Youth Club will aim to promote HIV/AIDS awareness activities among the target groups at schools. It will consist of making available, in school libraries, information on HIV/AIDS/STDs. We define information as materials contained in booklets, posters, leaflets, all kinds of IEC materials collected from governmental bodies, NGOs and IOs. These activities should be accessible and not costly. At the same time, peer leaders may organize drawings or story writing competitions on HIV/AIDS prevention with prizes for the winners. The project will provide the participants with paper, pencils and other materials to support these activities. The selected in and out-of-school peer leaders will organize activities to support the HIV/AIDS prevention promotion. They will help to engage their friends and/or classmates to be more deeply involved and interested by the project. Small budgets will be made available to facilitate the running of this activity.
Special event is a one day event promoting and addressing the project’s messages to the whole community, especially the young ones. The special event has been done every year. We organize a concert as a means to promote and draw the attention of the whole community on HIV/AIDS issues. During the concert, plays with HIV/AIDS messages related to youth will be used to make them aware of the actual problems and dangers faced by our youth on HIV/AIDS health and poor decision making. This special event has strengthened and supported the MoEYS/SCRH Mainstreaming Component and the radio and TV spots to raise the general population's awareness.
