Project: Iodised Salt Demand Creation in the Phnom Penh Areas

The project aims to promote iodised salt and increase its consumption to combat Iodine Deficiency Disorders (IDD) and other associated diseases
Brief description of activities:
- Promotion of iodised salt through the greater Municipality of Phnom Penh and all its markets;
- Marketing strategy; development of questionnaires and conduction of a survey on nutrition habits (more than 45,000 respondents);
- Door-to-door education in all streets and districts of Phnom Penh as well as all markets located in Phnom Penh and its outskirts areas;
- Distribution of iodised salt samples and testing of salt at homes and in the markets with salt retailers (control activity);
- Organisation of a three-day concert at Wat Phnom for the promotion of iodised salt during the Water Festival.
