The project was implemented in Kampong Cham (districts of Kang Meas and Srei Santhor). A medical doctor led the education campaign and provided free medical consultation and advocacy mainly on nutrition and hygiene to village people and schoolchildren
Brief description of activities:
- Extension of the eradication of IDD to Kompong Cham province.
- Door-to-door education, information video stand, iodised salt distribution and testing;
- The education was extended to include Vitamin A deficiency, Iron Deficiency Anaemia (IDA) as parts of the nutrition education to the people of Srey Santhor and Kang Meas districts;
- In addition to these activities, a medical stand with a medical doctor offered free consultations and distributed some medicines.
- A "magic salt" activity was organized in primary schools.
- Organization of two district workshops with local authorities and health centers staff.
