CSCS conducted a qualitative research on Emergency Contraceptive (EC) and sexual behaviours of Cambodian and urban young people based on targeted groups of young adults aged between 16-24 years old.The survey or assessment was aimed at identifying the Knowledge, Attitudes and Practices (KAP) of both young adult women and men on EC and other contraceptive products, sexually transmitted diseases and their preference of outlets, either as sources of information and education or as suppliers of actual EC products , STD treatments.

The project consisted in:

  • 10 focus group discussions comprising from 8 to 13 participants (young people, pharmacists and drugs sellers) were organised.
  • 20 secret shoppers with pharmacists and drugs sellers.
  • 11 Key informant interviews (in-depth interviews) with health specialists from the Ministry of Health, the Phnom Penh Department of Health, the National Institute of Public Health, Faculty of Pharmacy,Ministry of Women’s and Veterans Affairs, Maternal Child Health, Pharmacist Association of Cambodia, RHAC.
  • 20 semi-structured –interviews with pharmacists and drugs sellers.
