On the 25th of October 2007, at the Kompong Thom provincial sport stadium, a very exciting health promotion titled, “Life Skills Education
for HIV & AIDS Prevention”, was organised by the CSCS team to raise awareness in the community of the danger and threats of HIV & AIDS
prevalence. The event began with a full parade on the town’s main road attracting the full attention and rousing fantastic support from the
town’s population. It was a highly successful all-day event with thousands of students, parents, teachers, school directors, community and
NGO representatives and local partners, dignitaries and leaders in full attendance. It was also an excellent opportunity for the students and
their schools to inform the parents and the general public of the life skills lessons currently being taught at their schools. All enjoyed taking
part in the event’s fun games, role plays and song contests which were accompanied by prizes which were reported in the local media.
The CSCS team and local partners were very pleased by the success of the event, and the participation and support of everyone involved!
