Local Life Skills Program in Koh Kong Province

Smach Meanchey Primary School is a school among the targeted schools of Cambodia Basic Education (CBE) Project, Local Life Skill Program Component ( LLSP). It is located in the district town of Koh Kong Province in the south of the country, which is considered as one of the most under-served in terms of education. Smach Meanchey Primary School Director, in collaboration with the surrounding communities was awarded a grant of USD300 from CBE-LLSP to implement LLSP in the school which is part of the Curriculum Development policy of Ministry of Education and Sport. With assistance from the project team, CSCS and DOE, access to computer classes were made possible with groups of twenty students and half being female. It is being managed by LLSP committee with support from the communities and CBE-LLSP project team. Due to the success of the computer classes, English classes are now being run which is directly funded by the community.
