In Pailin municipality, on 1 June 2007, the exhibition of students’ achievement in Ochra primary school was organised by Ochra school director in cooperation with community trainers (CSCS staff), LLSP school directors, local authority, district office of education and provincial office of education. The event was donated by CSCS, schools and communities. It was jointed by 14 schools presided over by the Vice-Governor of Pailin Municipality, Mr. Lao Bunpa. There were many speeches then followed by traditional dances, and short stories.
On the day, there were thousands of people enjoying the event. They included school directors, teachers, communities, students, national and international organisation representatives, and other stakeholders. Those schools having received grants to run LLSP brought their students achievements for display at the event. These were the outputs from Local Life Skills Program (LLSP) Component of the Cambodian Basic Education Project. Furthermore, the participants had the opportunity to see the exhibition of students’ achievements and to buy the products. The LLSP committees will keep the profits to sustain the LLSPs in their schools for the next academic year.
The purpose being to motivate students in their participation in the LLSP courses as well as others. Also, it serves the purpose of informing the communities about the improvement of the school in implementing new curriculum.
